Bridge Pointe Gains CTO, VP of Engineering

"We set out to find a person who has successfully engineered and implemented a truly large, multi-tiered, complex, production, enterprise application. We found him," says Bridge Pointe Software, Inc.'s CEO, Bob Ney.

A veteran of large scale implementations, Jeff performed similar tasks at CitiBank and Republic National Bank. Jeff’s latest achievement was the deployment of a transaction based Customer Investment System, where he was able to leverage the bank’s existing legacy systems into an N-tiered, Internet based, real-time application for use by it’s customers for managing their own accounts.

When questioned about how Jeff was found, Ney said, "What got our attention about Jeff Gorsak was that, during the initial testing of the system, the bank hired SAIC to independently audit the security issues of this new architecture. They found no possible breaches. I heard about this project from Gartner Group. I needed someone like him to guarantee that Bridge Pointe’s products would have the same industrial strength characteristics."

In recent years, the enterprise resource planning (ERP) industry has seen exceptional expansion. ERP software has achieved annual growth rates of up to 90% and annual profits have as much as doubled year-on-year (Global Technology Business, June 1998). One reason for this mass increase, ERP vendors generate $5 in revenues for their partners for every $1 they charge (Red Herring, August 1998).

Mr. Gorsak adds, "I was approached by Bridge Pointe to audit their BE4 systemic infrastructure. They needed a sound architecture that would stand up to thousands of user’s multiple requests for information residing in diverse applications and RDBMS, across multiple platforms. When I concluded the study, I realized that there was synergy between how I thought technology needed to progress in this genera of computer science and the vision of Bridge Pointe."
