Paper documents, digital documents, handwritten documents, photographs and telephone voice recordings are common examples of "the rest of your information." The process of collecting, managing, and retrieving such objects is referred to as "archiving." Attaching this data to mission-critical applications is a compelling need.

Until now, the solution was to purchase high-cost, stand-alone systems that operate in parallel but are unconnected to the core information systems. The Need
The marketplace is characterized by corporate enterprises and organizations which have the need to "attach" other pertinent pieces of information to their associated enterprise mission critical business solutions. Efficient archiving requires software engines running in the background and capable of managing these objects. Then these objects have to be presented within the GUI of the mission critical application. To date, the marketplace has been dominated by proprietary turnkey providers. The focus of these companies is to sell packaged applications or to modify existing applications. While such systems can run parallel to a company's business application software, they are not an integral part of these enterprise applications and are usually not true open architecture systems, increasing user costs down the line. All of these solutions are actually separate applications which, at best, co-exist with the internal "mission critical application". To fully exploit the capabilities and promise of object archiving Bridge Pointe Software believes that the most valuable solution is to integrate information object archiving into the mission critical business solution. BE4 is designed to be embedded into enterprise mission critical business solutions. While there are several successful application developers offering enterprise information systems (for example SAP, Baan, SIEBEL Systems, PeopleSoft), a void remains in today's market for these enterprise mission-critical business solutions. The Product

Bridge Pointe Software offers a software component, attachable to any existing (or new) mission critical application which will collect, manage, and retrieve various objects. For example, the BE4 component allows objects to be catalogued and attached to enterprise information systems. Object types are not limited to traditional files, but may include any type of data object such as video streams, CAD drawings, photographs and event triggers on mainframes / legacy applications.
