Bridge Pointe Moves To New, Larger Headquarters

Pleasanton, CA - August 7, 1997 - Bridge Pointe Software, Inc. today announced it has moved to a new location. The company, which is developing an embedded "engine" technology for use in integrating all forms of information into existing host systems, had formerly been located in Menlo Park, California. "The new headquarters offers us a lot more space, and we need it," said Bob Ney, Bridge Pointe Software's Chief Executive Officer. "We plan to more than triple our U.S. headcount and increase our European employment by a factor of five by year end," Ney explained.

Sees Major Opportunity

Most market analysts expect diverse information integration to be a big business by the year 2000 and most suggest "the way to go" is embedded technology rather than adjunct systems. "We think we're in the right place, with the right technology, at the right time," offered Alf Goebel, Bridge Pointe Software's Vice President of Marketing and Sales. Bridge Pointe Software, essentially a start-up company headed by experienced, industry "heavyweights," is applying its technology and experience to enabling complete information integration. "Today, nearly 80 percent of a company's information is in forms unusable by their IT (information technology) systems," Goebel stated. "By allowing companies to capture and integrate that information, we are creating a new opportunity for our customers to add a powerful enhancement to existing applications."

Focusing On U.S. And Europe

For now, Bridge Pointe Software is focusing its marketing and sales efforts on U.S. and European opportunities. "We believe, in the short term, these markets are the most prepared for what we're doing," Goebel explained. The company will be spearheading its efforts from the new headquarters in Pleasanton, and from its office in Germany.
